"Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast-paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents’ divorce. Surrounded by an array of simpleminded middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain… or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?!"

The story of “13” highlights the real-life teenage focused struggle of fighting to fit in and find your place in the world, but let’s be honest… So many of us adults are STILL trying to figure that one out. We are trying to be who the world wants us to be and the pressure is ON. We are trying so hard (on our own) to be the best friends, parents, spouses, siblings, sons, and daughters that we can possibly be, and every day we yearn to learn new ways to step forward to reach that goal. Aside from that, we are learning to show up for OURSELVES the way we strive to show up for others. Imagine if we all took the time to do “a little more homework” and spread kindness, patience, compassion, empathy, and understanding to not only each other, but ourselves? To release the pressure and weight from our shoulders to breathe and understand we are ALL trying our best to be our best. It may be a teenage musical, but it carries so much relevance to all ages.
